Salina Soto was born in King Hospital in South Central, Los Angeles. The youngest of 6 six siblings, but the first to attend a major university, Salina was always destined for success. Born to a black father and white mother, Salina hails from humble beginnings. Continuously standing out from the crowd with her top grades and vibrant personality, she also loved playing basketball and running track, and had hopes of becoming the first girl in the NBA, that is, until auditions came around for her elementary's school Christmas play. Since the day she landed the small role of the "cat", Salina tugged between basketball and acting dreams. After winning several talent shows and positive encounters with talent scouts, acting won, hands down, at the age of 16 when she realized how bright her future beamed as an actress. Upon high school graduation, she received numerous academic scholarships and studied in the areas of Political Science, Communications, & Film at UCLA (ultimately majoring in Political Science). Salina had her first TV role opposite Melina Kanakaredes with a guest role on CSI:NY.
